What is F1 in SchoolsTM?

The F1 in SchoolsTM STEM Challenge is the world's largest Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) Competition. Each year it involves over 20 million students from over 40 countries around the world.

Students use industry-standard software and equipment to collaborate, design, analyse, manufacture, test and then race miniature F1TM cars capable of 80km/h. But it is not just about fast cars. Students learn leadership, team building, graphic design, sponsorship, project management, business planning, media, public speaking, financial strategy, marketing, collaboration, writing and presentation skills.

Students collaborate with many organisations, industry and higher education facilities to source knowledge and resources during their project. Teams also raise sponsorship and manage budgets to fund research, travel and accommodation.

Angle of Attack will compete against other schools from Victoria at the State Finals in October 2017 and if successful compete at the Australian National Finals in March 2018, with the winning teams then representing Australia at the World Finals later that year.

Angle of Attack

Angle of Attack is one of three teams representing Methodist Ladies' College at the F1 in SchoolsTM State Finals.

This year we have high expectations with a view to go through to the national finals. We aim to be an all-round team with a professional outlook which includes a super fast car, a great portfolio and pit display. Our team is motivated and passionate about the competition, and this strives us to work above our expectations.
